Day 2 Exploring Nassau

Your first day explores the City of Nassau, visiting the historic sites in the centuries-old capital, indulging in savoury treats at the chocolate factory, do a street art and gallery tour and get an insight to the island’s vibrant culture.

For the nature and wildlife lovers, a gentle walking tour visiting gardens, national parks and learning about the native flora and bush medicine gives you a real insight into the hidden Nassau.

Day 3 – 5 – Trip to The Exumas

Morning transfer to Nassau airport for flights to Georgetown Exuma. Your host hotel is an intimate resort located just 15 minutes from Georgetown.

The Exumas are an archipelago of 365 cays and islands, which are divided into three main areas – Great Exuma, Little Exuma and The Exuma Cays.  The best ways to experience the island include swimming with the pigs at Major Cay, snorkeling and diving in Thunderball Grotto – a gin-clear watered cavern, a day-trip to Stocking Island and Mystery Cave and a visit to The Hermitage Estate ruins on Little Exuma.

The Exumas’ many bays and cays invite water lovers to relax and unwind with private picnics in secluded spots.

Day 6 – 8 – Trip to Cat Island

Departure for Cat Island (via Nassau or charter flight).   Your host hotel is Fernandez Bay Village, a remote rustic 15 cottage property located on a mile long beach.

Cat Island is for exploring off the beaten path and quiet soul searching. Named after the pirate Arthur Catt, much of the island remains undeveloped and offers a laid-back natural setting for a relaxed Bahamas holiday. Like all the Out Islands, the diving and snorkeling is spectacular in the many caves off the south shore.

But exploring the island’s unique spots is the real treat – a hike up the 206 ft stone staircase of Como Hill to Mount Alvernia Hermitage – a small stone monastery built by hand by the architect and priest Father Jerome, Boiling Hole – the site of a sea monster folklore, the ruins of Deveaux House, an 18-century plantation and the childhood home of Sir Sidney Poitier.

Day 9 – Return to Nassau

Departure for Nassau for your last night’s stay at A Stone’ Throw Away B & B.

Day 10

Your transfers are in the afternoon for your return flights from Nassau to London Heathrow.
