Fond Doux Holiday Plantation is a 19th century eco-friendly colonial plantation nestled in the heart of St Lucia. The resort is situated amidst a 250 yr old working plantation and features an assortment of uniquely crafted cottages, two onsite restaurants and a collage of outdoor swimming pools.

It's a true plantation experience, as guests are able to actively engage in the day-to-day running of cocoa plantation, which includes Cocoa Harvesting, Cocoa Drying, Cocoa Grinding, Cocoa Dancing and Cocoa Rolling. You gain a true appreciation for the finished chocolate product! In fact when Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla Parker-Bowles, did their official tour of Fond Doux in March 2008, they engaged in those activities! It is no wonder that the Guardian Newspaper has rated the resort Number 2 Plantation Retreat in the world!

We boast the fact that we have taken Eco Tourism to another level. Not only are we the only true organic estate on the island but we also the only resort in St Lucia that engages in true eco-building practices and cultural preservation. This is evident through our practice of identifying intricate French Colonial wooden buildings more than 100 years old slated for demolition, which we dismantle and transport to the estate, where they are restored as guest accommodation and stand as monuments of the island’s rich colonial history.

Tropical breezes rustle through lush rain-forest foliage and create an ambiance that is romantic, secluded and revitalizing. Standard Cottages:
African Tulip - built in gingerbread fashion with one bedroom and en suite bathroom. Interior decorated with cool colours in contrast to the vibrant rainforest surroundings. Maximum occupancy of 2 adults.

Bamboo - crafted in the best tropical hardwood with hand-crafted King-size four-poster bed, en suite and rainforest shingles which add to the rustic tranquility and authenticity of the plantation. Maximum occupancy of 2 adults.

Superior Cottages:
Banana Tree - built in gingerbread fashion, it hosts natural wood and white contrasts which fits in with the natural vibrant rainforest surroundings. Maximum occupancy of 2 adults + 1 child on roll away bed

Cinnamon - features fine indonesian woodwork combined with colonial architecture and set amidst the lush green vegetation of the plantation. The cottage offers a bedroom (King-size four-poster bed), sitting area covered with bamboo rafted roof, en suite bathroom, hardwood crafted verandah with rocking chairs and lush tropical foliage and colourful vegetation for guest privacy. Hilltop Coconut - perched on the hillside on a forested ridge amongst towering coconut trees, this cottage has vibrant and colourful decor, with one bedroom, ensuite bathroom, sitting area with fine forest seasoned furniture and a patio overlooking the plantation. Deluxe Cottages:
Angelina - a 160 year old colonial house which was relocated to Fond Doux Estate from Castries, rebuilt and beautifully restored to reflect Caribbean architecture in an airy and bright way but with allusions of the French colonial style as seen in the jalousie shutters. The tope floor houses a spacious master bedroom and bathroom, with the ground floor offering a dining room, bathroom, living room and outdoor kitchen. Prince Charles visited this cottage as part of his official tour in 2008. Maximum occupancy of 2 adults and 2 children (less than 12 years old) on sofa bed.

Avocado - In the heart of the plantation, a two bedroom cottage each with en suite bathroom, spacious living room, dining room, full kitchen all with a blend of tropical colours. Both bedrooms have secluded patios. Maximum occupancy of 4 adults and 2 children (less than 12 years old) on sofa bed.

Cocoa Tree - two bedroom cottage with mixed decor of St. Lucian artwork, antique furniture and accessories crafted by local artisans. Each bedroom has its own en suite bathroom and combines with a full kitchen, dining room, living room and patio to create a family cottage. Maximum occupancy of 4 adults + 2 children (less than 12 years old) on sofa bed.

Tree House Cottage - one bedroom cottage of Caribbean architecture in a stunning location in the plantation. It offers en suite bathroom, spacious living area, plunge pool and king-size four poster bed. Lush and colourful tropical vegetation surround the cottage for privacy. Maximum occupancy of 2 adults + 1 child on roll away bed.
