Sample Itinerary* (based on travel April 4 – 11, 2016)

Day 1 – Flights from London to Grenada

Depart London Gatwick for Grenada. On arrival in Grenada, you are met by the Essence of the Caribbean rep and transferred to True Blue Bay Resort – a 48-room family run, tropical-designed hotel with a breathtaking view of the bay.

Enjoy an evening at leisure exploring the hotel or taking in the beautiful sunset on the dock.

Exploring Grenada and Port Louis Event

Day 2 – Your exploration of Grenada today includes a visit to the Grand Letang National Park. This encompasses over 30 acres at 1,9000ft above sea level – a must-see for hikers and nature-lovers. You drive past colourful villages before arriving at Belmont Estate.

Here you will get a glimpse into the working of a fully functioning estate and also experience the making of chocolate from bean to bar – touring the cocoa fields for demonstrations of harvesting, cracking, collecting, tasting of fresh beans and tour of the Grenada Chocolate Factory.

Lunch is included, then head back to True Blue Resort for a tasting of Grenadian rums.

Opening night of the Pure Grenada Festival on the green of Port Louis. Performers include Angelique Kidjo (Benin), whose sound combines elements of African traditions with American soul, Jamaican reggae, jazz and funk.

Jazz Night at Calivigny Island**

Day 3 – Day at leisure

Calivigny Island. This evening’s performance is an intimate affair at the most exclusive of the Festival’s venues – Calivigny Island. Spread over 80 acres, the private island is located just off of the south coast of Grenada with sweeping views of the Atlantic and Caribbean Oceans. Performers include Zara Mcfarlance (UK), Eddie Bullen (Grenada/Canada), Andy Narell and Band (US).

Carenage ‘Floating Island’ Event

Day 4 – Morning at leisure. Join the in-resort afternoon cooking demo with Esther and Omega of True Blue Bay Resort to learn more about Caribbean spices and dishes.

The Music festival continues with the ‘floating island’ event. Taking place on the water within the beautiful horseshoe of St. George’s harbour Carenage, this evening’s event features a floating stage and floating platform (for the audience).   Performers include Madison Violet (Canada).

Reggae Night

Day 5 – It’s Reggae Night at Port Louis featuring Steel Pulse (UK), Etana (Jamaica) and Jesse Royale (Jamaica).

Rhythm & Blues

Day 6 – Day at leisure.

The sounds of Rhythm and Blues come alive in the evening with Joss Stone (UK) and the British Collective (UK).

Authentic Grenada

Day 7 – Caribbean-style brunch with Grenadian family.

Evening at leisure.

Flights – Grenada to London

Day 8 – Your transfers are in the afternoon for your return flights from Grenada to London Gatwick.
